City Year Kansas City Idealist Gala

Education has the power to help every student succeed. However, nearly 30% of Kansas City students don’t graduate each year. We believe that can change. City Year’s annual gala is celebration of our students, AmeriCorps members, and community members who challenge cynicism and inspire others into action. Proceeds from the event go directly to help keep more than 4,000 Kansas City students in school and on track to graduate.

Honoring an Idealist

We define idealism as the belief that you have the passion, skills and courage to change the world. Idealism isn’t just a positive mindset, it’s a culture grounded in actionable values. This event will honor individuals who, like our AmeriCorps members, embody the spirit of idealism. This is an opportunity to publicly recognize someone who is making a difference in the life of one person, an organization, or an entire community.
