Name: Diversity & Inclusion Workshop Series: Implementing Diversity & Inclusion in Your Workplace
Date: August 9, 2019
Time: 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

What does your workplace look like? Is your staff representative of your community? Do you welcome a wide array of perspectives and experiences to your table? Do you know that embracing diversity can help your business thrive and grow?

You asked, and we listened.
In 2018, our members took part in the KC Chamber Regional Diversity and Inclusion Survey. The purpose was to find out how the Greater Kansas City Chamber could best support our members when it comes to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. The number one request from our respondents was for tools and education on how to implement D&I tools in their companies. Based on that request, the Chamber invites you to participate in our upcoming Diversity and Inclusion Workshop Series. These working lunches are designed to be stand-alone sessions, but participants who attend all four will receive a special recognition at the completion of the series.

What You Will Learn: During working lunch sessions, experts will lead you through topics such as implicit bias, hiring and promoting minorities, and understanding a supplier diversity program.

Who This Series Is For: Business owners and leaders who want tools to create a diverse and inclusive workplace for their employees.

Why Should You Take Part: Studies show a diverse workplace has a stronger bottom line, and more qualified employees.

Implementing Diversity & Inclusion in Your Workplace:
Implementing policies that promote diversity and inclusion in your workplace means more than a yearly online training session for employees. It involves a full understanding of why a diverse and inclusive company goes beyond race and culture. Participants will come away from this session with tools to start the conversation: including how to collect key data, and how to implement strategies and best practices
