All the free food, entertainment, music, dancing, games, prizes and family resources return Saturday, Aug. 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Morning Star Youth and Family Life Center on the corner of 27th Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, Mo.
It's a big party with a big mission, say LINC’s event managers Danisha Fultz and Drake Bushnell.
“It’s a day to come together with families and get resources and enjoy a fun time with neighbors,” Bushnell said. “It’s for kids and adults of all ages. All our partners are invested in Kansas City.”
Everyone can enjoy the grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and frozen treats by Frosty Frogs Water Ice. And the face painting, and game tournaments with dazzling prizes, the dancing with music by DJ Techni Cal, a community mural art project, big raffle prizes and the Chiefs’ KC Wolf.
But there will also be free school supplies, a host of service providers with help like health screening, legal assistance, gun locks and safety, utility bill assistance and voter registration.
