LUNG FORCE Expo

Lung Cancer, Youth E-Cigarette Use, Radon and Pulmonary Fibrosis, Among Featured Topics at the Kansas City LUNG FORCE Expo - June 14, Crowne Plaza Downtown.

Radon, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, youth tobacco use, as well as a self-care mini fair for people who have lung disease are some of the many sessions being offered during the American Lung Association in Kansas & Greater Kansas City’s LUNG FORCE Expo taking place on June 14 at the Crowne Plaza Kansas City downtown.

This LUNG FORCE Expo is designed to educate health professionals, people who suffer from lung disease and caregivers about the latest trends, resources and research surrounding lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and other respiratory diseases. Join us to learn important lung disease information, share a meaningful experience with others who are fighting lung disease and care for yourself and others by expanding your lung disease knowledge.

The event will feature some of the nation’s leading experts in lung disease and lung cancer, including:

• Dr. Mark Hamblin, MD, FCCP, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Kansas University Medical Center, who is presenting “New Directions in Pulmonary Fibrosis.”
• Dr. Alvin Singh of Children’s Mercy and Dr. Matt Sharpe of KU Medical Center, who are presenting “Youth and E-Cigarettes – Discussion about the epidemic of youth vaping, what it means to you and how you can fight back.”
• Clara Anderson Sainte from Gilda's Club will be presenting “Sensitive Conversations and Patient Care.”

Healthcare professionals, as well as patients living with lung disease or lung cancer, and caregivers are invited to attend the event on June 14. The LUNG FORCE Expo Patient and Caregivers Program is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the Healthcare Professionals Program is from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Luncheon is included.
