The KC Chamber is partnering with the Kauffman Foundation to help build the workforce of tomorrow in schools today. In an effort to rethink education, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has initiated new initiative called Real World Learning which seeks to help build connections and create learning opportunities at the intersections of education and work. This includes ensuring students leave high school with one or more “Market Value Assets” that provide evidence of readiness for work and learning after graduation. Students with Market Value Assets will have employer-recognized skill sets, a network of business contacts and a clear path for transitions from classroom to career.
Business engagement in Real World learning is critical to providing students with opportunities to succeed past high school. Please join us for a discussion on this important regional initiative that will help enhance the student talent pipeline in the Kansas City region. Anna Hennes, Program Leader of the Business to Education-Real World Learning at the Kauffman Foundation will provide an overview of the initiative along with opportunities for business to engage with participating school districts.
